Interfacing Structured and Unstructured Data in Sociolinguistic Research on Language Change (STRATAS)
Linked Data Finland
In the context of the STRATAS Academy of Finland DIGIHUM project, the Corpus of Early English Correspondence, as well as the Old Bailey Corpus were transformed into Linked Data and loaded into ldf.fi. An interactive explorative interface called Khepri (published open source on GitHub) was then developed, through which the data could be explored to uncover variations in language use interesting from a sociolinguistic viewpoint. Later, a separate second tool called FiCa was created to aid scholars in the humanities in more precisely filtering through the data.
