Documentation

The documentation is a key component for improving the comprehensibility and quality of Linked Data. In Linked Data Finland, two services are used for documenting the used vocabularies and the usage of vocabularies.

1. Schema Documentation. Linked Data vocabularies that are published by th Linked Data Finland Service are published in the Schema Service. The documentation is generated automatically using documentation services.
2. Vocabulary Usage Documentation. The actual usage of Linked Data Vocabularies in Linked Data can be difficult to comprehend, because Linked Data may use distributed vocabularies that are published at different locations on the web. To improve the comprehensibility of the actual vocabulary usage, Linked Data is documented using vocab.at service developed by SeCo. The vocab.at service analyses the usage of Linked Data at the given URI and documents the data by creating a mashup from the used data and vocabularies.
